May 11, 2023 (Halifax, Canada) — Graphite Innovation and Technologies (GIT) is moving to a new carbon neutral facility in Dartmouth. The company, which is focused on producing sustainable products for the maritime transportation sector, has outgrown its current 4,000 square foot space and is moving to a new 17,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility at 499 Wilkinson Avenue in Dartmouth. The additional space will allow GIT to create new eco-friendly production technologies, as well as expand further into Europe, Middle Eastern and Asian markets. Improvements are expected be completed by Fall 2023.
The Government of Canada, through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), is contributing $950,000 (repayable) to help GIT establish operations in the new facility. This investment will also allow GIT to enhance production of its eco-friendly products – supporting the decarbonization goals of shipping and marine-focused organizations around the world.

GIT offers a full range of easy-to-apply, smart, graphene-based marine coatings that deliver fuel efficiency, drive decarbonization and reduce underwater noise emissions. The line-up of XGIT branded biocide free coatings can also be applied and cleaned quickly to support operational efficiencies. GIT, which has a presence in Canada and Europe, and distribution centres in key areas around the globe, is well positioned to supply its coatings to the international marine transportation sector.
GIT was co-founded in 2017 by CEO Mo AlGermozi and CTO Dr. Marciel Gaier. The company now has 22 staff and plans to add another 15 by the end of 2023. From the start of the company, the ‘Made in Canada’ message has been key to their success. The founders feel Halifax is an ideal city to manufacture and ship their product to distribution centres around the world.
