Enhanced cavitation resistance

Long-term propeller efficiency

XGIT-VORTEX™

Optimal Strategy for Peak Propeller Performance

  1. Uncoated, no polishing
Fouling builds from biofilm to slime to hard calcareous growth. Added power rises quickly and plateaus around ~6% with no restoration in performance

  2. Uncoated, polishing every 12M
Polishing restores the surface once per year, but the propeller spends several months in degraded condition. Peak ~5%, average ~3.4%.

  3. Uncoated, polishing every 6M
More frequent recovery keeps peak lower at ~3.8%, average ~2.2%, but increases intervention frequency and cost.

  4. XGIT-VORTEX + 12M soft cleaning
Low surface energy and smooth topography reduce strong attachment. Mainly soft slime builds up and can be removed gently. Peak ~1.6%, average ~0.4%.

Coating System Designed for Propellers

Market Adoption

~600 applications of GIT propeller coatings in the market globally

Optimized for fouling release and cavitation resistance

AGN surface chemistry creates an unfavorable attachment environment for microorganisms – without relying on biocide release.

As the propeller operates under load, bubbles form and collapse against the surface. The reinforced midcoat helps reduce coating removal risk at blade edges and tips.

 Ultra-smooth surface profile

A propeller-specific coating system built around layered protection

Minimal coating loss due to cavitation

Simulated Cavitation Test (Standard ASTM G32)
